Covid 19 as a pandemic brought such stress and pain which haunts us even today. On one side 2020 reminds me of the tough times we all went through but on the other it also excites and rejoices me because of GHLP – An initiative of BGSM of which I was a miniscule part.
INITIATIVE OF BGSM
Under the vision of Poojniya Deviji and love and guidance of Poojya Swamiji – it was decided that the world needs a ray of hope to cling onto in such times of distress and agony. GLOBAL HOLISTIC LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (GHLP) was that “ray of hope” which pulled people out from the shackles of distress.
ROLE IN GHLP
I was offered to teach UPSC Civil services exam aspirants. Although I humbly deny being capable of being a faculty in such a gargantuan course of GHLP UPSC which I realized later. I grabbed the offer and was confident of living up to the expectations of BGSM.

GHLP COURSE
GHLP UPSC Course was uniquely designed to cater to students preparing for Civil Services irrespective of their background – be it financial, social etc. It covered every aspect of the preparation – detailed lectures on every subject, crisp notes and a bonus of spiritual discourse by Poojniya Maa and Baba to become successful civil servants and fulfill duties /responsibilities with utmost sincerity and devotion.
STUDENTS
COVID 19 presented the students with a gloomy prospect of their career as it restrained their access to education with coaching institutes and schools shut down. It was a challenge to adapt to a new way of life with a burden of insecurities charging heavily on their mental disposition. In those tough times GHLP was a means to make education accessible to them along with helping students to adjust to a new way of life through its holistic curriculum. Students were overall satisfied with the efforts of BGSM in adding value to their UPSC preparation as well as their life. Spiritual set of GHLP consisting of philosophy course, Roop Dhyaan meditation sessions, Yoga helped in holistic development of mind, body & soul. It inculcated in them values like humility, gratitude, forbearance, time management which actually helped them in enhancing their productivity while inspiring them to give it all for the greatest purpose.
CO-OPERATION FROM BGSM
BGSM played a vital role in helping me deliver lectures to the best of my ability. Since the trend of online classes had just begun, I was totally new to it. I was trained on the workflow of the process. Also I was provided with a Clas Representative who would be present during the entire class and manage any technical issues. Also CR helped me for proper management and smooth flow of the entire process, sending and collecting assignments along with providing notes. I humbly give all credit to BGSM if I could execute my responsibility as a UPSC faculty.
THINGS I LEARNT ABOUT MYSELF
I also got an opportunity to self-introspect – about my shortcomings and to work upon them. GHLP taught me the role of discipline to excel in any field of life, Time management (becoming an early bird instead of night owl which is today’s trend) and the importance of having a healthy diet to sustain success and not just achieve it.
This might leave us with a last question – How does spiritual education play a role if any in UPSC Civil Services exam? The answer is it plays the most important role. Red tapism, corruption, politician-bureaucrat nexus all such issues plague the society because the civil services aspirants only study ethics as a subject during preparation and do not apply them in their day to day lives. Moral education has limitations. Spiritual education builds a strong foundation and molds “leaders” for tomorrow. That is why the nomenclature was Global Holistic Leadership Program.
This is just the beginning. Further versions would indeed usher in a spiritual revolution which is inevitable – It’s just a matter of time.
